2024 Executive Board - Open Positions

Nominees must be ACS members in good standing, and willing to provide a brief biography and photograph for the ballot.
Chair-Elect
Chair-Elect is in total a 3-year position with the first year as Chair-Elect, second year as Chair, and third year as Past-Chair.
Chair-Elect handles matters, in concert with committee chairs, related to special programming like the summer social and the awards dinners. Chair-Elect plans the following year's speaker series and chapter meetings while assisting in the execution of the Chair's programming for the present year. Chair-Elect also serves on the Awards Committee.
Should the Chair be unable to fulfill their duties (partially or in their entirety), the Chair-Elect will take on the additional duties.
Secretary
The Secretary holds a 2-year term on the Executive Committee.
The Secretary has a range of responsibilities to both the GHS and the ACS National office. These responsibilities include keeping and distributing minutes of GHS and Executive Committee meetings, maintaining a current GHS membership list, serving on the Nominating Committee, preparing election ballots and executing the yearly elections. The Secretary is also responsible for certifying alternate and temporary substitutes for Councilors and notifying he ACS National Secretary, as well as assisting with the preparation of the section's annual report.
Councilor/Alternate Councilor
Councilors and Alternate Councilors hold 3-year term on the Executive Committee.
Councilors represent the GHS at council meetings at the national ACS meetings, currently held twice a year. Councilors serve as a liaison between GHS and ACS and are required to attend and vote at all council meetings at the national ACS meetings. Additionally, each Councilor is required to serve on at least one committee of the ACS and GHS.
Alternate Councilors attend the national ACS meetings in place of Councilors as needed. Each Alternate Councilor is required to serve on at least one committee of the GHS.
There are 1 Councilor and 1 Alternate Councilor positions available on the 2024 Executive Committee.
Director
Directors hold a 1-year term on the Executive Committee. Directors are considered entry-level positions of the Executive Committee. Directors are expected to attend all Executive Committee meetings of the GHS and serve on at least one standing committee of the GHS.
